Gratitude Explosion

I was reading a devotional this week by Shauna Niequist called “Savor” (swipe to see 🫶🏼) and it tied in perfectly to our verse of the week. It was about how often our mind only has radar for the negative, but there is another beautiful reality available to us when we choose to look (and develop a radar) for the good and lovely surrounding us.

A little sleep deprived and balancing work and home and all the little things, I often feel like I am just going through the motions and tasks of each day in survival mode. This Saturday morning while my kids were playing, I took a much-needed pause and for 10 minutes just wrote down (in some multi-colored markers that bring me endless joy) everything I could think of that I was grateful for. Family, friends, snuggles, good audiobooks, cozy sweatshirts, coffee, leaves, etc. I could feel the stress and tired/anxious thoughts I was feeling slowly unwire and untangle, leaving me with a sense of peace and calm and gratitude. It was a much-needed reminder from God that there is so much He has given me to be grateful for (even when my eyes don’t always take the time to see it).

So this week I encourage you to do the same: take 10 minutes and make your own GRATITUDE EXPLOSION!

Write down everything that pops in your brain that you’re grateful for- even if it is small or random or silly. God loves when we delight in Him and the gifts He has placed in our paths- and it does so much good in our souls too. (You can also do this as a family and hang it up in your house- the perfect activity to kick off a month of Thanksgiving and gratitude!)

I hope you feel the goodness surrounding you today, even in the midst of the hard… and encourage you to find the beauty that awaits you if you choose to SEE THE GOOD. ⭐️
